With nine candidates in this race—including two incumbents—Clawson has plenty of choices. I stand apart for my experience, independence, and proven commitment to our community.
As a former City Councilman and current Planning Commissioner, I’ve listened to residents, strengthened public engagement, and worked to protect our neighborhoods while preparing for the future.

For me, it’s not about party politics, personal agendas, or making headlines—it’s about keeping Clawson a great place to live, work, and raise a family. That means protecting our small-town charm while making smart, forward-looking choices for the future.
Whether it’s improving infrastructure, watching budget spending, or making sure development actually fits our community, my focus is always on what’s best for us—the people who call Clawson home.
Clawson First means listening before deciding, working with everyone (even when we don’t agree), and always putting residents’ needs above politics. That’s the kind of leadership I’ve brought before—and it’s what I’ll bring again.

Council Leadership: Led a subcommittee to review and clarify Clawson’s appointment process, improving tracking of open seats and successfully addressing numerous vacancies on boards and commissions.

City Administration Reform: Volunteered to revise the city ordinance on administrative performance reviews, introducing a new format, timing, and language to ensure documented evaluations—something previous councils had not implemented.

Planning Commission Contributions: Played a key role in developing two comprehensive Master Plans for Clawson, with the latest approved in 2025, guiding the city’s long-term growth and development vision.

Champion for Transparency: Worked with fellow Planning Commissioners to update Clawson’s Special Land Use ordinance, requiring visible on-site postings for development requests. Previously, notices were hidden in newspapers, limiting public awareness. This change ensures residents are fully informed and can actively participate in decisions affecting their neighborhoods.

Scott has called Clawson home for 35 years. He and his wife, Teresa—his partner in life for 38 years—have raised their two daughters, Averie and Nealie, right here in the city they love.
Professionally, Scott is an Executive Leader for a global technology and science company headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. His career has taken him around the world, working alongside people from many cultures and backgrounds, building solutions, and fostering collaboration.
Locally, Scott has a deep record of public service. He has served as a City Councilman and is currently in his second appointed term as a Planning Commissioner for Clawson. In both his professional career and public service, Scott brings a 100% commitment to all he does.
Known for his energy and drive, Scott often jokes that he “needs to stay busy to be happy.” Whether tackling challenges at work, addressing city issues, or lending a hand in the community, he believes in doing the job right, listening to people, and keeping Clawson’s future bright.
